Better Call Saul” season 4 is about to come in a couple of months, so its creator Vince Gilligan, and lead star Bob Odenkirk are now teasing what is about to happen in the series. At the recent ATX Television Festival, the two talked about what fans could expect from Jimmy McGill and his transformation as Saul Goodman, Entertainment Weekly (EW) reported. Will things be more exciting or different this time?

'Better call Saul' new season's twist and turn of events

Fans are expecting to find some answers after the previous season’s major cliffhanger that showed Chuck (Michael McKean) being killed in a raging fire.

As AMC already confirmed his death, his demise is said to strongly resound “throughout the season,” notes EW. "Gilligan teased that you can expect to see the character [Chuck] again (presumably in flashbacks)," EW speculated.

Talking about “Better Call Saul” season 4’s scripts, Odenkirk revealed that he tried to move away from what he used to do. The 55-year-old said that he used to “stick to the script.” But now, he can’t help but resist his character’s “unavoidably tragic path” as Jimmy is about to transform as the famous criminal lawyer from “Breaking Bad,” Saul Goodman.

Because of this, Jimmy’s relationship with Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) will be affected. “If you’re intrigued by the Jimmy-Kim relationship, this next season is gonna knock you out,” Odenkirk teased.

He also added that there will be scenes between the two that will be on “another level” that fans haven’t seen before.

A tragic life without Kim

According to Variety, with the death of Chuck, Jimmy is about to face a number of challenges in life in “Better Call Saul” season 4. “The only person on Earth left for Jimmy to care about and for the love and respect to earn is Kim,” Odenkirk said.

In fact, there will be two important scenes between Jimmy and Kim. This will include “an element of forgiveness and reaching out” that will make them a better person than what they used to be. They will be out of their characters, acting like real-life couples to make their sequences more realistic.

As the events in Jimmy’s life will affect his relationship with Kim, fans will be wishing that they could make things work out between them.

There will be moments that they seem to have what it takes, but her absence will definitely make his life more tragic.

Jimmy’s transition to becoming Saul Goodman

Meanwhile, talking about Jimmy’s life as a Cinnabon manager named Gene, Gilligan revealed that Odenkirk’s latter character interests him the most. With Gene, the creator said that there is a big possibility of redemption. Although things could end badly, at least he still has hope to make things right.

Gilligan admitted that he had a hard time to create Jimmy’s transition to becoming Saul Goodman. In fact, he found himself wanting to alter his story a little, but he did what he must. So, he started to feel bad that Jimmy has to abandon who he used to be and be the person that he is not.

Better Call Saul” season 6 will air on August 6 on AMC.
