"Grey’s Anatomy” season 15 will be incomplete as there are reports saying that Scott Speedman may not return to the series. Also, even though hopes are high that Sandra Oh may come back to the show, it won't be the case. According to Cinemablend.com, these two stars, who played the roles of Dr Nick Marsh and Dr Christina Yang respectively, are often questioned about whether they are going to reprise their roles in the upcoming season.
Dr Nick Marsh’s departure
At the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, June 10, Speedman was asked whether if he would still be seen as a doctor or someone who needs a doctor in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15.
“I don't know. Probably not. Sorry," he said, this according to Digital Spy.
As the 42-year-old star also confirmed that he won’t be returning to “Animal Kingdom,” he said; “You're going to have to wait a couple of years. I'll find something to do." To recall, he was cast after Martin Henderson left his role as Nathan Riggs, the Grey Sloan’s resident heart surgeon. He joined the series as the charming transplant surgeon, who could be the potential lover of Dr Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
Oh shuts down her possible return
On the other hand, Oh said that her answer to the question if she is going to return to “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15 depends on her mood. “I answer it really based on what I'm feeling that day - and today is no,” she told TVLine.
Although the 46-year-old star already left the show in 2013 after 10 years of playing the role of Dr Christina Yang, fans are still hopeful and ask her the same question regularly. However, even though she already shut down a lot of viewers’ hope, she is thankful that people still want her to be in the series. She is even grateful that the show has helped her to get the titular role in the BBC America thriller, “Killing Eve.”
To show her gratitude, Oh revealed that she also loves her role as Dr Christina Yang in “Grey’s Anatomy." Although time has passed, she is continuously stunned by the love and support the show’s fans give her.
“It's so fantastic, and it pleases me,” she said. This gives her a huge amount of satisfaction that her portrayal of Christina is still remembered. “It's really phenomenal,” she admitted.
Now, the only thing that Oh knows is to continue working well and sticking to her own “compass.” She then revealed that her compass is pointing her to the North. Does this mean that there will be no hope that Dr Christina Yang could still be seen in the series someday?
