In the next “Grey’s Anatomy” season 14 episode 23, “Cold as Ice,” fans might see the end for April (Sarah Drew). The 37-year-old star along with Jessica Capshaw, who plays the role of Arizona, is about to leave the medical drama series, and it looks like things are not pretty good for the trauma surgeon.

Fans have the faintest idea how Capshaw and Drew’s characters will exit the ABC series. With everything April did to herself, all of those are leading to self-destruction.

April’s unconscious and unresponsive body

According to Elite Daily, April is having a hard time to keep her faith; she left Jackson (Jesse Williams) and partying every now and then with the interns to make herself feel better.

Clearly, she is trying to destroy herself. So, when the news comes out Drew is going to leave “Grey’s Anatomy” season 14, fans quickly assume she is going to die, and this might happen in episode 23, “Cold as Ice.”

As this will be this season’s penultimate episode, it looks like this is not far from happening. To add fuel to the fire, the last episode before the season finale’s trailer showed Owen (Kevin McKidd) searching for April until something he saw makes him surprise and gasp for air.

In the next scene, April is seen lying unconsciously and being brought to the hospital’s emergency room, while being attended by Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). As she keeps saying they will never lose her, she breaks down when Alex (Justin Chambers) asks her what’s wrong.

Jackson can be then seen rushing to the operating room and hugs April’s body. However, she remains unresponsive and the machine attached to her shows a flatline.

Arizona’s new job opportunity

On the other hand, Arizona could be leaving “Grey’s Anatomy” season 14 for a much better job opportunity or some family reasons. In fact, fans have been predicting how Capshaw will leave the long-running television series, and it looks like they are correct.

On the May 3 episode, she was calling her ex-wife Callie (Sara Ramirez) to tell her their daughter needed to be in New York with both of them.

Episode 23, “Cold as Ice,” plotline also revealed Dr. Nicole Herman (Geena Davis), the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital’s former head of fetal surgery, will return to propose Arizona a new job opportunity. So, either of the two reasons or both will make Arizona leave her work in the hospital.

“Grey’s Anatomy” season 14 episode 23, “Cold as Ice,” will air on Thursday, May 10, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
