US President Donald Trump has come under fire for hitting back at Mika Brzezinski, the co-host of “Morning Joe,” after she said that he’s “destroying the country.” He sent out an angry tweet calling the show “poorly rated” (again with the ratings; he thinks “The Apprentice” was the be all and end all of television and everything else pales in comparison) and said that when “Crazy Mika,” as he called her, who he accused of having a “low I.Q.,” came to stay at his Florida resort Mar-a-Lago for a few days “around New Year’s Eve” and just “insisted” on hanging out with him, to which he apparently “said no!” He went on to say that she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when he saw her.
Trump’s tweet came about an hour after Brzezinski’s comments
Trump’s nasty tweet about Brzezinski, which some would say (including some Senators from Trump’s own political party) was unnecessarily and excessively mean, was posted about an hour after “Morning Joe” aired on MSNBC and she said that the President has spent the last few months since his inauguration into the White House “lying every day” and “destroying the country.” She also called his hands “teensy,” which is probably what triggered his relentless rage.
Having previously claimed that he does not watch MSNBC, whose staff he has referred to as “bad people” (pot calling the kettle black much, Trumpy?), Trump obviously watched “Morning Joe,” because today’s broadcast made him very sensitive.
But this time, it’s not just liberals speaking out against his actions – right-wing conservatives have been joining in the criticism.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Politico that the insulting comments made by Trump were “highly inappropriate.” They asked her if Trump should issue an apology and she said that if she were him, she would apologise.
The President has commented before about women and blood. On the campaign trail, he struck back at Megyn Kelly from Fox News by saying, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.” Her “wherever,” right... We know he knows at least one word for a woman’s “wherever,” because he used it to describe his many sexual assaults on an “Access Hollywood” bus when he was bragging to Billy Bush.
What did she say?
So, what did Brzezinski say that was so bad exactly? She was simply talking about the fake Time magazine cover that Trump has been hanging in his golf clubs, ranging from the south of Florida to Scotland. He filled a Time magazine cover with his own face and added headlines about the amazing success of “The Apprentice.” It was completely fabricated. And why did he do that exactly? To feel important. Isn’t that just the saddest thing you’ve ever heard?
Brzezinski said that, of creating a fake magazine cover about yourself, “nothing makes a man feel better.” She noted how, on the fake cover, Trump is covering his hands, which she says is “because they’re teensy.” She responded to his insults in a tweet with a picture attached showing a cereal box bearing the words, “Made for little hands,” probably realising that the small hands comment is what set him off and wanting to throw a little more fuel on the fire.
She didn’t add any words to the tweet. She’s keeping cool and level-headed about the rivalry, unlike her ticking time-bomb opponent.
Last August, Trump hit out at Brzezinski, and that time, it was completely unprovoked. At least this time, she had said something about him. Back then, he just said he had “tried watching” “Morning Joe” and found it “unwatchable.” He also called it “low-rated” (again with the ratings! What’s the big deal?! “The Apprentice” is terrible!) and said of Brzezinski in particular that she is “off the wall,” “neurotic,” “not very bright, and a “mess!” What a sweet, kind, gentle man he is.
