Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Ashgedom, a famous and popular rapper is dead. Sadly, he leaves the world at the tender age of 33 after being shot just outside of his Los Angeles clothing store.
The shooting took place outside Marathon Clothing in 3400 Slauson Avenue. The Los Angeles Police Department informed media outlets that the shooting occurred at 3:20 PM, with a man escaping the crime scene. Three men were shot and later rushed to the hospital. One was later reported dead on arrival but the victim wasn't named. It was later revealed that the victim is Nipsey Hussle.
The other two who were in critical condition were pronounced stable.
The investigation is still open with no definite suspects and the gunman's still out in the open according to NBC.
The music industry and community left grieving
Nipsey's Grammy-nominated album "Victory Lap" was his first and last album. He worked with different artists in the industry including Kendrick Lamar, Cee-Lo and many more. Many artists are left grieving at the news of Nipsey's passing. Songstress Kehlani made a post on Instagram recalling their recent chat about his album. One of his more controversial works includes a song in YG's album for Donald Trump which remains one of the most cutting edge songs to ever refer to the current United States president in his era.
Just hours before the shooting, Nipsey made a Twitter post, claiming that having big enemies is a blessing. He was known for his works on philanthropy and activism. He was an active member of the community, investing in "Too Big to Fail." His other works include Destination Crenshaw that features open-air art installations.
He is grieved for, not only by his former collaborators and music icons but also by his community in which he invested so much. His impact on society never to be forgotten.

Nipsey Hussle was an indie rapper and activist who received a Grammy nomination earlier this year for Best Rap Album with his album "Victory Lap," losing to Cardi B.
The rapper was famous for his lyrics, showing him as a socially conscious person with ingenuity. He still had projects lined up this year with one of his last Instagram posts showing his recent collaboration with DJ Khaled.
Nipsey Hussle was one of the victims of senseless gun violence, shaking the world to its core. The city mayor, Eric Garcetti, offered his condolences on Twitter. In his words, "Our hearts are with the loved ones of Nipsey Hussle and everyone touched by this awful tragedy. L.A. is hurt deeply each time a young life is lost to senseless gun violence. My Crisis Response Team is assisting the families coping with shock and grief."
Nipsey's name is currently trending on social media with countless posts all offering condolences to the late rapper.
