Cardi B is set to light up KAOS in Las Vegas, as the American rapper has been handed a plum residency spot at the ultimate clubbing venue in the popular entertainment hotspot. With potential success at the prestigious Grammys beckoning – she has been nominated for five awards this time around – it has been announced that she will headline when KAOS is expected to open its doors to the public in April.

Born as Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, the 26-year-old from New York continues to blaze her trail through the Music industry in its various guises. Her residency news follows hot on the heels of the likes of other major names such as Canadian star Drake and the multi-talented Mark Ronson, who have also signed up to similar deals recently.

Following in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Lady Gaga

She also becomes the latest in a lengthening string of female music superstars to have taken up residency spots at the numerous clubs and casinos that Las Vegas has to offer. Britney Spears, J. Lo, the enigmatic Lady Gaga, and singing diva Mariah Carey have all trodden a similar path during their illustrious careers.

Colourful career and chart topper

With a colourful career already behind her, including divulging through social media that she had previously been an exotic dancer to earn her own money and get away from an abusive former boyfriend, Cardi B is certainly no shrinking violet. Her exuberance and sassiness shines through in her performances, which should pull in the crowds to the new Las Vegas venue.

The Billboard chart-topper already has plenty of fans in America, with tracks such as her debut single “Bodak Yellow”, “I Like It” (with Bad Bunny and J Balvin) and the collaboration with Maroon 5 on “Girls Like You“ all reaching number one.

KAOS investment

KAOS represents a massive investment as The Palms’ renovation continues, with the completion of a 100,000-square-foot, multi-level dayclub and nightclub.

Complete with an enormous glass wall-operable door to allow division into indoor and outdoor spaces, plus a 360 degree rotating DJ booth and a supplemental dome cover, it will be an all-year-round destination moving into spaces previously occupied by the Palms pool and the Rain nightclub.

Perhaps in keeping with the concept of chaos (or ‘KAOS’) and the general decadence associated with the Nevada resort, the new venue also features a 65-foot bronze sculpture of a headless demon to provide a distinctive focal point for tourists.

Joining Cardi B at KAOS

Other top artists joining Cardi B in appearing at KAOS include English electronic music group “Above & Beyond”, fellow American rapper G-Eazy, the experienced Vegas club performer Kaskade and Grammy Award winner and DJ Skrillex.
