The much anticipated music video of the Korean girl group TWICE has not disappointed their fans worldwide. As reported by various media and YouTube, TWICE’s Yes or Yes is now trending in seven countries including Taiwan, Singapore, France and even Germany. The magnitude of their popularity is now being compared to BTS, but they have a long ways to go.

‘Yes or Yes’ just struck gold

TWICE’s fanbase called “ONCE” was also instrumental in their success, especially their comeback album. Often than not, they are sighted by some the critics as a mediocre band that won’t be able to reach its full potential.

However, they have proven time and time again that they can compete with other Kpop bands such as Blackpink, Red Velvet and even Girl’s Generation. These nine ladies have an uncanny way in capturing everybody’s imagination which makes them the best in the business right now.

The very first teaser that was released gained five million viewers in a span of three days. This is unprecedented considering it is only a fragment of their music video. Some of the bands, regardless if it is Kpop or not has a hard time even reaching one million views. Although all of them are considered as “visuals”, there is no doubt that Mina spearheaded this song. She is arguably the most elegant artist in the industry right now, but make no mistake about it, she has an alter ego that can “flip the switch” once the music starts.

TWICE’s versatility on display

JYP Entertainment was exceptional in providing each lady with their spotlight as they dance their way to another record. The rhythm of the song and its lyrics is very catchy, which is probably the reason why it is trending right now, aside from the fact that it is from TWICE. Also, their new single just killed the rumours and critics saying TWICE have the same exact song for the past three years.

If there’s one thing guaranteed about TWICE is their versatility. Each member can adapt and adjust in an instant and they feel comfortable doing it. A primary example is when they did the cover of Daring Woman which incidentally they made it even better than the original!

Ready to take over

Also, "Yes or Yes" has now reached the US and UK soil and is just behind Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next.

If this trend continues, they’ll be able to reach 44 million once the day ends. There’s also a big chance that they’ll guest in multiple TV shows in the US considering the publicity they are getting right now. Lastly, it is highly documented that their “dating ban” is already uplifted which means that some of these ladies might enter into a relationship anytime soon.
