"Game of Thrones" season 8 now has an approximate release date. HBO's president of programming said at the Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour, that it will arrive in the "first half" of 2019, according to CNET. Fans of the show were hard-hit when season 7 ended and news came out that the next season would be sometime in 2019. But the Morning Bulletin said that he would not really elaborate any further details.

'Game of Thrones' spin-offs, just one in the works at the moment

Casey Bloys added that regarding the spin-offs in the pipeline for "Game of Thrones," there is only one being worked on at the moment.

The others are on the backburner for the time being. The other four "Thrones" spin-offs "are "on hold" or no longer in the works," according to the Morning Bulletin. They are working on a pilot written by Jane Goldman and HBO seem to be quite "excited" about the project. At present, they're looking for a director for the series.

When they announced the prequel spin-off last year, they noted that it would be looking at the "world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour." It will chronicle some of the secrets of the ancient lands and families of Westeros.

Season 7 was the penultimate series of 'Game of Thrones'

Season 7 of "Game of Thrones" was the penultimate in the series and while fans look forward to season 8, there is a sadness that it's coming to an end.

The last season ended in a very dramatic and cliff-hanger ending. That was when the Night King used Viserion the dragon to help breach the walls and the White Walkers able to get beyond it.

The season 8 story is kept under wraps and several endings are reportedly being filmed to prevent spoilers. Nevertheless, we can guess and figure out that the next season of "Game of Thrones" will see the White Walkers getting to Winterfell.

There's speculation they may even make it as far as King's Landing.

Recent spoilers and speculations for 'GoT' S8

We do know that season 8 of "GoT" will only come with six episodes. The previous seasons had 10. But, Bloys assured Entertainment Weekly that they will be like "six one-hour movies." In the meantime, a new theory over on Reddit was discussed by the Daily Mail UK.

The theory suggests that Bran, with his new-found powers of the Three-Eyed-Raven, will want to use his powers to get rid of the White Walkers. That's assuming he's mastered them a bit better in season 8. Some fans speculated that Bran could actually end up being the Night King. But that is a bit too out there for most fans. Nevertheless, he may have something to do with his fate.

Redditor 2Dumb2Understand suggested that a scene in season 1 could relate to Bran being involved. They mentioned that it was when Bran was still in a coma. Jon said his goodbye to Bran and also mentioned that they wanted to go to the wall together and that they will one day. The Redditor added, “I for one would love to see Jon and Bran go beyond the wall together, perhaps to strip the Night King of his source of power.”
