While so far it is unknown how and where UK viewers will be able to watch the Hulu original series “Castle Rock,” it is exciting for Stephen King fans to view the latest trailer. It gives more hints into the storyline of the spinoff to King’s iconic characters and stories. It took a while for the adaptation of King’s “Mr. Mercedes” to arrive and be available in the UK, so let's hope this one will arrive sooner.

The JJ Abrams and Stephen King TV series is based on several popular stories by the horror author and each episode will intertwine King’s characters and stories in his own fictional town of Castle Rock.

Strong cast for King multiverse story

Castle Rock” has an strong cast and includes Sissy Spacek (who played the original “Carrie”), André Holland (“Moonlight”), Melanie Lynskey (“Two and a Half Men”), Terry O’Quinn (“Lost”) who plays Dale Lacy and also acts as a narrator and Bill Skarsgård, who famously played Pennywise in the latest Film adaptation of King’s clown horror, “It.” Jane Levy of “Suburgatory” also features as well as Scott Glenn, who plays Sheriff Alan Pangborn, a name familiar from a number of King novels.

As noted by Cinema Blend, the new trailer appears to mainly focus on Skarsgård’s character, who mysteriously appears as a prisoner in the familiar Shawshank Penitentiary.

That prison was last seen in the excellent film adaptation “The Shawshank Redemption,” based on King’s 1982 novella, “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.” Henry Deaver, played by Holland, acts as the prisoner’s lawyer, called in to help with what is becoming a truly sinister situation.

NME notes that as Deaver’s investigations continue, he will give us hints and references to several other King novels, including the rabid dog story, “Cujo,” “Needful Things,” and more.

US premiere for ‘Castle Rock’
