After rumours that we might be seeing “Fortnite Battle Royale” on the Nintendo Switch, it turns out that they are likely false. Multiple sources have said that it is doubtful that the game will be coming to Switch and that there are no current plans.
The original rumours suggested that Epic’s popular battle royale game, “Fortnite,” was going to be announced for the Nintendo Switch. These rumours also suggested that the Switch version would include exclusive content. However, it seems that these rumours were unfounded and incorrect.
The rumour originated from Twitter user @LeakyPanda.
The information was scarce but offered enough in the way of details to set the internet ablaze. This led to many sites looking further and reporting on these “Fortnite” rumours.
This is all for now. Is not too much compared to what we have been told, but it is the most coherent and reasonable. If new verifiable stuff comes forth we will let you know.

False rumours
USgamer has stated they have heard from multiple sources that these rumours are false. They have checked with sources close to Nintendo and “Fortnite” and each told them that there were no plans for a Switch release. They also reached out to Epic to comment on the rumours, but the company declined to comment.
“Fortnite” is the hugely popular game where players battle to be the last person standing. They do this by any means necessary. The game itself includes a crafting mechanic, shooting, hiding and customising your character. It has gone onto be massively successful with a dedicated community, streamers, and players.
Fortnite on smartphones
Since there was recently an iOS and Android app for “Fortnite” released, it is understandable that this rumour gained so much traction. Smartphones are not the first platform you might think of for a competitive game with as much complexity as “Fortnite”, but it has gone one to be very popular with mobile users.
It is currently number 2 in Action on the App Store.
The rumour itself seems perfectly reasonable. It makes sense that one of the most popular video games in the world would want to be on one of the most popular consoles in the world. While it is not an impossibility, it doesn’t look like there any plans for a release at the moment. However, this could change in the future.
Who knows after all the coverage the rumour has had, it might give the Epic and Nintendo something to think about regarding “Fortnite’s” future. The Nintendo Switch certainly has plenty of other fantastic games for players to enjoy though with the likes of" Mario Odyssey," "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" keeping many players busy for hundreds of hours.
