From 11 bit studios and Digital Sun Games, “Moonlighter” is out now in stores for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. According to Steam, this action RPG throws players into the shoes of Will who is a shopkeeper by day and an adventurer by night. He must defeat powerful enemies, gather treasure and hone his skills as a merchant to save the village of Rynoka.

What is 'Moonlighter?'

Moonlighter” takes a top-down approach akin to games like “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past” and “The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.” The story of “Moonlighter” is set in a time years ago when magical gates were discovered.

These gates lead to different dimensions and realms allowing adventurers and heroes to hunt for treasure in these mysterious lands.

The game is set in the small village of Rynoka which is near the excavation site of the gates. It is a place for adventurers to sell their treasure and provides a refuge for them on their travels. “Moonlighter” has a few rogue-lite elements entwined within its Action-RPG gameplay as players explore dungeons each night and the terror of retail during the day. PC Gamer describes the game as a "lovely, compelling mix," saying that it has attractive imagery.

As players progress through the game, they can unlock various abilities that make their life easier. They can hire a part-time worker to sell things at night or create an auto-sell bargain bin so that they can adventure during the day, according to PC Gamer.

As you progress through the game more options become available for both sides of “Moonlighter.”
