Last time Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor came together was in 2007’s Bollywood love saga “Saawariya” which proved to be a box office disaster. Though it was released opposite Shah Rukh Khan's magum opus "Om Shaanti Om" which proved to be suicidal for "Saawariya", the pair was never cast again ever. It was their debut together and Director Rajkumar Hirani is bringing the pair back together on screen with Bollywood’s controversial actor Sanjay Dutt’s biopic.
The rumors of Sonam and Ranbir’s real life dating saga were hot when “Saawariya” was released but after that, the duo was never seen together, not even at Bollywood events and parties.
It is thus an achievement for Rajkumar Hirani that he has got the two Kapoors to finally work together again.
Sonam Kapoor to essay the character of a Bollywood actress
Rumor had it that Sanjay Dutt was once dating the most gorgeous Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. Apparently, online reports suggest that Sonam Kapoor has been cast to play the role of the 1980's and 1990's actress whom Sanjay Dutt was allegedly dating. The speculation that she will play the role of none other than Madhuri Dixit has reached the peak. Though Sonam doesn’t have a meaty role in the biopic, the fact that Ranbir and Sonam will be seen together as a couple onscreen post a long gap of 10 years is reason enough for excitement levels to rise.
While there is Sonam’s appearance which is creating a buzz, Anushka Sharma’s presence in the movie is also creating a lot of headlines lately.
Biopic also stars Anushka Sharma
Post her much loved romantic act with Ranbir Kapoor in Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, Anushka will be seen doing her third movie with Ranbir. As per online reports Anushka Sharma essays the role of a journalist in the biopic.
While Ranbir Kapoor will be soon seen on “Koffee with Karan” with Ranveer Singh, Sonam Kapoor is busy finishing Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor produced “Veere Di Wedding” which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan. Meanwhile, Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt’s biopic is expected to begin shooting in early 2017.
