Right from the time the news of Naagin 2 had arrived, it was accompanied with the reports of it replacing Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural thriller Kavach which was said to be not doing so well on the TRP charts.
Now according to latest online reports, Naagin 2 will be launching in October as planned but will not be replacing Kavach as Kavach has been provided an extension.
Naagin 2 time slot is fixed
The first season of Indian TV show Naagin concluded in June 2016 and it was replaced with Kavach… Kaali Shaktiyon Se. This is because Naagin 2 post the immense success of its first season will be showcased in the prime time slot of 8pm to 9pm ISD.
Kavach will get a new slot, won't be replaced by Naagin 2
While Naagin returns at 8pm, Kavach has been extended for 14 episodes and will be telecast at 7pm for an hour which will go on to strengthen Colors weekend line up. It was earlier said that Kavach is a finite series just like Naagin and shall be having the season format but the disappointing fall in the ratings had spread the news that Naagin season 2 shall be replacing Kavach which now is not going to be the case. According to online reports Kavach has been getting high ratings not only in India but also in Pakistan which means that Kavach has corrected its mistakes which had earlier disappointed its viewers.
Kavach gets an extension of 14 episodes
Kavach has been successful in grabbing the eyeballs right from its launch when it replaces Naagin Season 1 which had created a crazy fan following for Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani and had become the TRP leader. We will have to wait and watch if the new time slot suits the Kavach fans and if the series gets one more extension post the current extension of 14 episodes.
Naagin 2 on the other hand is in news for a new entry in its cast which in most probability will be Indian Television heartthrob Karanvir Bohra who won all hearts through his performance in Zee TV’s Qubool Hai.
It is interesting to note that both the shows belong to the same maker i.e. Soap Queen Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and feature the most popular names of Indian Television.
