Colors Television show Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki has been creating a lot of buzz right from its launch. Being the first show on Indian Television which deals unapologetically with the struggles of transgender community in India, Shakti is no less than a game changer. The show is starting a much needed discussion on the struggles of Kinnars in the country in the most non controversial way possible. It is not only commendable but a fearless attempt by the makers to make the otherwise conservative viewers think about an issue which is usually sidelined and mocked.
Soumya's identity expose results in a series of twists
While the show began with a usual love story, the reveal of the leading lady being actually a transgender hiding her identity from the hero and the society came as a shocker not only for the husband Harman on the show but also for the viewers. Rubina Dilaikplays the role of Soumya who is a transgender and her identity being recently revealed to her husband Harman played by the heartthrob Vivian Dsena has resulted into Vivian’s character getting into a life changing decision making process. The question now is will he accept as transgender as his wife or break all the ties with her?
Soumya shifted to a new location with a new identity
As per online reports, the upcoming episodes will focus on Soumya’s struggle post her true identity reveal which will in turn throw light on the cringe worthy treatment given to the transgender community in the country.
Preeto wants Harman to get remarried
The next twist which many online reports are suggesting is Preeto’s decision to get Harman remarried. Preeto played by Kamya Punjabi will try her best to keep Harman out of Soumya’s memories and start preparing for his remarriage on war front.
Soumya meanwhile will be shown residing with other Kinnars away from the mainstream society and will also be renamed as Tarana and will be seen in an all new avatar.
We will have to wait and watch if Harman goes with the flow and gets remarried on Preeto’s insistence or will take a different decision altogether. The show airs on Colors TV Monday to Friday 8 pm ISD.
