IPL 2016 is finally here
The 9th edition of the Indian Premeire League i.e. IPL is just around the corner and like all other IPL opening ceremonies, this one too is going to be huge on entertainment. American Singer and rapper Chris Brown who is famous for his smashing hits like Loyal and With You will make a grand entry at the opening ceremony who will be joined by American dance trio Major Lazer, Fuse ODG and recording artist Nailah Thorbourne on 8th April 2016.
Ranveer Singh and Yo Yo Honey Singh amongst others to perform
These international stars will be performing in India for the very first time. Joining them will be Bollywood biggies like Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and the pop icon Yo Yo Honey Singh. Ranveer’s performance is said to be a tribute to Cricket and the spirit of the game. Jacqueline Fernandes is also slated to perform at the most awaited cricketing phenomenon of the year. It will be interesting to watch the powerhouse performer and Bajirao Mastani actor Ranveer Singh perform at a cricketing event which amalgamates two of his passions i.e. Bollywood music and cricket.
Also the Blue Eyes singer Yo Yo Honey Singh’s performance which is said to have a compilation of his hit songs will attract many eye balls since he is performing after a long gap of 18 months.
As reports suggest he was away from the music scene for the longest struggling with bipolar disorder and alcoholism and has recovered recently. His performance is reported to showcase how sports and music go hand in hand.
Last season winners Mumbai Indians will keep back the trophy on the dais for this year’s competition to begin.
The opening ceremony will be held at National Sports Club of India (NSCI) situated at Worli, Mumbai on April 8th from 7.30pm IST. Looks like IPL 2016 is all set to raise the entertainment bar with the current season, the wait indeed is getting unmanageable.
