Get yourself ready for Halloween 2019

Halloween 2019 or All Hallows Eve as some prefer to call it, is fast approaching and for some, the spookiest night of the year is also their most exciting night of the year. October is just over one month away, so here are thirteen ways to prepare yourself for the haunted autumn month. From the simple to the most drastic of changes this list will be sure to prepare you this Halloween.

1

Get your witch on

Christmas may have Santa Claus, but Halloween has witches, and you can get yourself ready for the day by living the life of one. It's easy, just get yourself a Cauldron, a Broom, and a Black Cat. Oh! and of course, you cannot forget the 'Eye of Newt' a key ingredient for any 'Witches Brew.' But if potions are not for you, you can fill yours with sweets or other kinds of spooky paraphernalia.

2

Find your favourite colour

Black, orange, purple and green. These staple Halloween colours will be your new favourites in the lead up to All Hallows Eve, from home decor, to outfit choices, right down to the food you buy, make sure you keep it black, orange, purple and green. Let the world know that you are ready for Halloween 2019.

3

Redecorate your home

Who says you can't celebrate Halloween all year round? Revamp your home this year and get yourself ready for the spookiest night or the year, or maybe for you it is the night you feel most at home. Get out and get yourself some cobwebs, lace and candles, along with all other manner of Halloween decorations to suit every inch of your home.

4

Create a playlist

Don't forget to fill your ears with the sounds of Halloween. Why not create a playlist full of all your favourite songs, whether you create it just for you or to play for all your friends at a Halloween themed party, music is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit.

5

Practise you carving skills

It wouldn't be Halloween without a string of scary pumpkins leading visitors to your front door. So, get out your carving tools and get creative this year with your crew of pumpkins. But, if you lack the skills, or don't trust yourself with a knife there is always paint or sticker you can use to spook up your exterior.

6

Practise your scares

It wouldn't truly be Halloween unless someone was screaming in fear, and that shouldn't be you. Why not practise your scares in the lead up to the big day, be in jumping out on an unsuspecting victim and shouting the classic 'Boo!' or getting really into things and create your own Haunted House. Other options can include fake spiders or scary stories told by torchlight.

7

Host a horror film night

Everyone loves a cosy night in watching your favourite films. But what's better than one surrounded by all your friends, only one thing...a Halloween themed film nigh Make a list of all your favourite Halloween films from the family friendly to the absolutely terrifying.

8

Howl at a full moon

Fancy some alone time this October? Why not head outside on the night of a full moon and have a good old howl. Who knows, you may even get yourself a new pet werewolf, that is if you want one. You may even spook out your neighbours which is always a fun Halloween activity.

9

Visit a graveyard

Of course, you must respect the dead when you visit, but if you want to spook up your day then why not visit a graveyard at dusk or late at night. Maybe you will feel the spirits of the lost lives around you, or if you have the ability you might even meet some of them.

10

Change your wardrobe

If you really want to get into the Halloween spirit, then why not spend all thirty-one days of October changing up your look and creating a new spooky wardrobe. One day you can be a Witch, the next day a ghost and perhaps the day after that you'll be a Vampire. Starting out early also gives you the chance to perfect your look before that big Halloween party you have been invited too.

11

Candles, candles and more candles

Make sure you remember to stock up on candles this All Hallows Eve. Whether they are simply aesthetically pleasing, or you want to bring the smells of the season in to your home, candles are a must have item for your home this October.

12

Trick or sweets

Surely you won't be celebrating Halloween this year without filling you belly full of sugar and sweet treats. But, if don't have a sweet tooth, stock up on sweets anyway or face the wrath of those pesky trick or treaters. Halloween is also about mischief after all.

13

Befriend some skeletons

Halloween doesn't have to be a lonely time. Feel free to welcome a whole host of new friends into your life, from zombies, to vampires, to skeletons, open yourself up to meet someone new this Halloween. If your current friends are not creepy enough, then your new ones certainly will be.
