5 new and returning films and original series coming in September on Netflix

“The Walking Dead” returns to carry on season 9, prior to the series starting its tenth season on 6 October. While Rick is gone, Samantha Morton (“Minority Report”) continues in her role as the leader of the terrifying Whispers. The synopsis for the season is that the communities will come across a formidable force that will threaten everything they have worked for.

“In the Shadow of the Moon” tells the story of a Philadelphia police officer in 1988. He wants to become a detective and starts tracking a serial killer who crops up again every nine years. However, the serial killer’s crimes start defying all scientific explanation, leading to the cop’s obsession destroying his career, family and his sanity. Sounds like a great psychological thriller is coming our way!

“The I-Land” has nothing to do with “Love Island” or any island that happens to be blissful. This limited series is the story of 10 strangers who have been chosen to be trapped on an island. They have no memory of who they are or how they got there. Whenever they try to get home, they face perilous challenges that will either make them ... or break them.

“Unbelievable” is a series inspired by real events. A teenager reports being raped and eventually recants her story, while two female detectives find information that could tell the true story. It is based n the article “An Unbelievable Story of Rape” by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong. As per Netflix, the series is a “story of unspeakable trauma, unwavering tenacity, and astounding resilience.”
