Gunners confirm the arrival of former Barcelona's Director Of Football Raul Sanllehi who was also responsible for bringing Neymar to Barcelona from Santos.

He will be taking charge of the role of Head of Football relations at the Emirates stadium.

Not only Neymar, he was also involved in bringing Luis Suarez to the Camp Nou. He was at Barcelona for over a decade.

He was constantly approached by Manchester City as well, so it's quite a steal by Arsenal. But it's Arsenal who bring him to the Emirates to perform the role of Head of Football relations.

Here at Emirates stadium, he will be negotiating the transfers of the players by replacing recently departed Dick Law.

The arrival of the Spaniard Raul Sanllehi continues massive changing in the back room of Arsenal.

Raul Sanllehi was followed by the Super Borussia Dortmund scout - Nicknamed 'Diamond Eye' - Sven Mislintat joining the club.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: ‘In the past three years we have supplemented our team with more top-class expertise in every aspect of our football operations.'

‘Raul’s appointment is another important step in developing the infrastructure we need at the club to take everything we do to the next level. Raul has extensive contacts across the football world and has been directly involved in some of the biggest transfers in Europe in recent years.

We look forward to him bringing that expertise to Arsenal.’

Not So Soon:

Raul Sanllehi won't officially start his role until February but will work alongside manager Arsene Wenger, CEO Gazidis, and contract negotiator Huss Fahmy in order to land great stars at the Emirates in the future.

He will also have the role of supporting Arsenal with local and international governing bodies.

Who is Raul Sanllehi?

Arsenal's CEO Ivan Gazidis infamously promised that there will be some huge changes at the Emirates this season, But soon after Arsene Wenger signing a new 2-year deal made the statement sound meaningless.

But there has been some massive backroom changes in the Emirates stadium as soon to be departed Dick Law will be replaced by the best possible candidate, Raul Sanllehi.

The Spaniard will be Head of Football relations at the Emirates and there are few reasons why he is a great addition to the club.

Sanllehi was brought to Barcelona from Nike in 2007, still holding great connections with great American Brands.

He is close with FIFA chief Gianni Infantino and is crucially a close ally of Ivan Gazidis.

He was the main reason behind bringing Neymar to Barcelona. He flew to Brazil himself to negotiate with the youngster and his father.

He also brought Alexis Sanchez from Udinese in 2011.

Another of his milestone is bringing Suarez to the Camp Nou. Now Arsenal is hoping for something similar from him in his tenure at the Emirates stadium.
