All about the Oscar 2019

The 91st Academy award which is scheduled to be held on 24 February will be the first ceremony without a designated host. A controversy kicked off early when comedian Kevin Hart was appointed for this year host, as he expressed homophobic views. 2018 Oscar was hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

The event will be broadcast live on ABC in the US and on Sky in the UK. The nominees for the award were announced on 22 January 2019 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly hill, California.

The schedule arrangement for the ceremony is as follows:

Monday, February 4 - Nominees Luncheon

Tuesday, February 12- Final voting begins

Tuesday, February 19 - Final polls close

Sunday, February 24 - Awards presentation

Unlike in the past, there will be some difference in this year's ceremony.

This year, the Oscar will rely on several high profile stars to give friendly skits. The show is also expecting Lady Gaga to perform on one of her songs from "A Star is born."

Also, producer Donna Gigliotti and Director Glenn Weiss have been tasked to run the show not more than three hours for the first time. In order to achieve this, some lower profile award will be handed during the commercial break.
