Who was actually shocked that the series got renewed? We guess nobody, right? This is how a series should be like. No offence to other 'Superhero Themed TV Series' but they should be looking to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" as a great example of successful storyline creation. Marvel is on top of the food chain and although they made some disastrous TV series like "Inhuman", it is still very hard to compete with them.

New season, 13 episodes

So what did we learn after the last segment along with an announcement from the team? First, Season 6 will start their production in 2019.

Yes, it will take that long, but they do have some reasons behind it. Second, the season will only consist of 13 episodes. For the past five years, this series was able to produce at least 22 episodes per one season. Why did they bring down the number of episodes in the one season? According to insiders, there is still no word if season 6 will be the last of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D". Thus, having the original plan of having 13 episodes only.

Reason for delay

What is the reason for the delay? With the recent success of "Avengers: Infinity War", an immediate follow-up is bound to happen. It means there is a big possibility that "Avengers 4" will be released next year. Does that affect "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D"?

Not really, but the stories will be surely linked to what will happen in the movie. Another reason why there is a delay is due to fatigue. Let us face it guys, although what they are doing on the site is humanly impossible, behind the camera they are still humans. The amount of pressure of successive production shooting is taking a toll on our characters.

But have no fear, the original cast is still intact and has no plans to quit unless the producers kill their role.

Things to look out for Season 6

The season finale of season 5 gave us an idea of what could happen next year. Phil Coulson seems to be on his “deathbed” expressing his gratitude towards the team. We can also see May being emotional which is uncharacteristic.

Is season 5 the last time we will see Phil Coulson? The answer is a big no. For those who haven’t watched "Avengers: Infinity War," there was a credit scheme where Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) talked about linking with Captain Marvel. It has been rumoured that Agent Coulson will be instrumental in “recruiting” Captain Marvel to join the Avengers. Will they be able to dissect those questions that Graviton posted during his attack and prior to him being “defeated’? That still remains unknown.
