The Marvel Universe has enough data to fill cinemas for generations. Since the Marvel Studios, X-Men Cinematic Universe and DC Comics surprised the fans this year with great movies such as X-Men Apocalypse, Suicide Squad, the unforgivable Deadpool and the long-awaited Doctor Strange that will release in November, fans are expecting more and more.

Of course, after the great success of Deadpool, we may think that there’s nothing that could beat the antihero.

Batman vs. Superman, Suicide Squad and X-Men Apocalypse got even some very bad feedbacks and that just sums up how picky fans could be. You can’t just mess around with the plot from the comic books, add some good looking actors, lame jokes and hope for great ratings. No, real fans are very picky and they do not accept studios to destroy what they love. Actually, for many of the viewers, everything we see now in cinema is actually their childhood.

X-Men franchise is known for destroying some good characters just for the sake of ratings, or at least, that’s what they thought. They gave us this super version of Wolverine which everyone loves because no one could portray him better than Hugh Jackman.

But, on the other hand, we have a shy Rogue, a boring Jean and no Gambit. Where is Gambit in the X-Men movies? Why is he not there?

Gambit

Gambit is a fictional superhero from comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is a mutant and has the ability to control kinetic energy to his desire. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in card-throwing. Known for his Cajun accent, he’s portrayed as a "ladies' man," but he has shown a more vulnerable side when it comes to Rogue.

Since 2013, there have been attempts at an ongoing title starring the character. He finally made it in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Taylor Kitsch, but let’s face it, that was not Gambit. We also had a bad representation of Deadpool years ago and look at how great they repay us.

Hoping the same from Gambit, 20th Century Fox announced a solo movie for this sexy character which was pegged for October 7, this year. Channing Tatum will take the role in the upcoming solo film, which no one knows when will arrive.

20th Century Fox had lots of problems with the production of this movie. Firstly there is no one to direct the movie, the money issue rumored to make Channing leave the cast as well as many others.

Once the production team is be ready, they’ll need to live up to fans' high expectations.

Synopsis

The story presented in the film will be the young version of Gambit, when he was part of a thieves’ guild. In order to create peace between this group and the rivals, a marriage is organized between Remy/Gambit and Bella Donna Boudreaux.

Until know it sounds just like the comics and the animated series, which is great. The movie could be terrific just by following the comics.

Of course, an encounter between him and Rogue would be appreciated but since X-Men movies didn’t give Rogue enough credit to be a great mutant, just a young, shy girl who apparently is some sort of Kristen Stewart among superheroes….let’s be honest, a love story between her in that state and Gambit would not be a great idea.

It looks like all we can do for now on is waiting. Waiting for a great X-Men movie with the beloved mutant, Remy LeBeau from New Orleans. (Maybe a crossover with The Originals? Why not?)

Take a look of how Gambit looked like for a short scene in X-Men Origins:
