The Star Parivaar Awards are back and our famous telly bahu (daughter-in-laws) and saas (mom-in-laws) are geared up to entertain the loyal fans by treating them to a dance and song gala. Top TV actresses like Hina Khan, popular as Akshara, Deepika Singh as Sandhya and Devoleena Bhattacharya as Gopi Bahu danced their way to the audience hearts.

The popular characters from hit shows danced at the extravagant event held in Mumbai recently. The show will soon be aired on Star Plus and the audience would love to see their favourite characters performing on an altogether different tune.

The evening was special for the audience as well as leading casts of various shows celebrating Star Plus' 15 years of success and popularity.

The shows have largely been about a strong female protagonist maintaining a balance between tradition and individual identity. Female bonding seemed to be the prominent theme at the awards night, as Hina Khan and Deepika Singh displayed their comic side while jointly conducting the show. Male leads have usually hosted the award ceremonies but the two girls brought a change in the anchoring pattern. The bonhomie between Hina and Deepika was visible and infectious as they cracked jokes and talked about their film-shooting experiences.

Hugely popular as the ideal daughter-in-laws who are traditionally dressed, all the time, and slip into a modern career-oriented makeover as and when life demands, Akshara and Sandhya are Star Plus poster girls.

Kashmiri-born actress Hina has played a traditional woman from an extended joint family in a Marwari household in one of the longest running daily soaps, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Similarly, Deepika has played the role of a traditional woman joining the police academy to become a fierce cop in Diya Aur Bati Hum.

Hina won an award for 'Favorite Maa' award while Devoleena who plays Gopi Bahu in the show Saath Nibhana Sathiya won an award for 'favourite Daughter in law'.

Devoleena dedicated the award to her mother for being a guiding light and helping her be an honest actress. The show has created a buzz and the hashtag #bemisaal15saal is making its rounds on Twitter. The TV actors worked on their looks to stand out with their distinct makeover. Karan Patel, of Yeh Hai Mohabattein, was seen sporting a small ponytail to match his dapper look for the evening, aiming to copy Shah Rukh Khan, who was seen 'rocking' a small ponytail, a while back.
