Sonakshi Sinha has been loved for her resplendent look and talent by a large number of fans. They are now delighted to have learnt that she will soon unleash her musical instincts. Sonakshi will make a TV debut and will be seen in a new makeover as the judge of the musical reality show Indian Idol Junior. Audience will be kicked to see her commenting on the singing skills of the aspiring singers on the show, which will go on air from May 30.
The actress is in the panel of judges along with music composer Vishal Dadlani and Salim Merchant, and singer Shalmali Kholgade.
Junior Shotgun, as Sonakshi is fondly referred to, will join the 'celebrity judges club' that consists of A-list Celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, who judged or anchored a hit TV show in the past.
Sonakshi has never sung before but claims to love singing in her bathroom. While shooting for the film Lootera, she was keen to sing the number Sawaar Loon, originally sung by Monali Thakur. Vishal Dadlani of music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar plans to make Sonakshi sing in one of her upcoming films. Vishal has promised that he would make Sonakshi sing a number in the film Akira, which is being filmed lately. Directed by R Murugadoss, Akira stars Sonakshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
Actors' crooning a playback number is not unusual these days. Alia Bhatt famously sang hit numbers Samjhavan in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and a lullaby in Highway. Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar too crooned Senorita in the hit film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
Daughter of popular actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi is taking her singing stint very seriously.
Inspired by a number of extremely talented young singers on the show, she is planning to take up regular music lessons.
