A Labour councillor has been deferred after dubbing Pride marchers as "paedophiles."

Councillor Chika Amadi, who has been a Labour councillor on Harrow Council since 2014, was suspended after writing on Twitter: "Nothing but paedophilia being labelled liberalism adults polluting children with their senselessness."

Councillor Sachin Shah, leader of Harrow Council and councillor for the Queensbury area of the London borough, said that the national Labour Party has suspended her pending an investigation into her social media activities.

Pride marchers are "evil"

But the Labour councillor, who is also an evangelical pastor, has faced calls her to resign altogether after branding Pride marchers as "evil." According to Pink News, she has posted many anti-LGBT messages on social media without challenge for many years.

She distributed an article from anti-LGBT Christian website, LifeSiteNews, that used a misleading photo from seven years ago to argue that Pride parade marchers were traumatising little girls with nudity. Although she was challenged by LGBT activists, she responded: "Evil. If you dare walk naked in front of my child God will give you terrible assignment that will put you to perpetual sleep.

Be warned."

Her comments are absolutely disgusting

Conservative activist Liam Pen said: "Her comments are absolutely disgusting. To think a person charged with political responsibility and power would do this is is horrendous. I hope she gets the whip withdrawn, such language is completely disgusting."

On her Facebook page, Cllr Amadi posted: "Recently one respectable man in my constituency questioned me on my faith especially on homosexuality.

I warned him not to try me next time. Anyone who wants to bring me down from my political career because of my faith and stand on the word of God will encounter the burning anger of the God that I serve."

Homosexuality is anti-humanity

In 2013, she shared a Facebook post protesting against demands to legalise homosexuality in Gambia, saying "Homosexuality is anti-humanity." In 2010, she tweeted: "Are people born gay or is it a choice?"

Councillor Christopher Noyce, a Liberal Democrat councillor for the Rayners Lane area of Harrow, told Blasting News: "I will reiterate London Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon's comments: 'these comments are clearly disgusting and have no place in a society that is tolerant and open.'

"Her remarks are totally out of place and I am glad that she has been suspended by the Labour Party. I had no idea about these comments until now and I am very surprised by her tweets."

Cllr Amadi was approached for her response, but she declined to comment.
