The incidents that took place in Charlottesville over the weekend are to be condemned, that goes without question, however, the media only seems to be focusing on the march by right-wing extremists. Yes, the language they used and their appearance was disgusting and frightening, as they marched with their torches it brought back memories of old newsreels showing the Nazis marching and also the KKK.

It was natural there would be a counter demonstration by those who know the danger of these people. However, there were also Left Wing extremists there just out to cause trouble who have an agenda of hate and violence - just as bad as the far right.

But it appears the BBC and other news outlets only seemed to report on the far right march and the trouble and mayhem they caused. Never once did the BBC and others go into a great deal about the violence and aggressive behaviour of the far left groups assembled there that day.

Donald Trump condemned the violence by both sides and he was right to do this, however, this was not good enough for the liberal/left media.

Trump hammered by all sides

This is not a piece defending Donald Trump as I am not a fan of his environmental credentials - the fact he is turning the clock back to make the US dependant on fossil fuels again worries me as one example. But Trump in condemning both sides for the violence was doing what any other objective politician would do.

Later he came out no doubt under pressure condemning the violence of the far right but because later he stuck to his first statement he was slated for it. The BBC, Sky and others attacked Trump for reverting back to his original statement of blaming both sides.

Even some Republicans like Paul Ryan distanced themselves from him as did the Bush Presidents.

It seems though whether you hate Trump or not he is one of the few politicians around today carrying out what he promised.

Obama was no saint either having used drones to kill Taliban yes but also thousands of Afghan civilians who just happened to be in the wrong place. But as far as the liberal left wing press are concerned Obama could do no wrong.

It seems some of Trump's supporters may be from the far right but because he made a statement attacking both sides he is suddenly a neo-Nazi.

Political reporting should be objective

It is fair to say that news outlets like Fox News are known to have a right leaning agenda when reporting on various issues. Whereas, if you believe Donald Trump CNN would be regarded as being more liberal and left leaning perhaps.

But it is not just news media that seem to have a right/left bias entertainment shows like Channel 4's 'The Last Leg' and BBC's 'The Graham Norton Show' seem openly left wing.

To me, this is wrong because all programmes whether news or not should be objective and not use the media of television, radio or social media to get their agenda across.
