Rachel Weisz, 48, opened up about her pregnancy in an interview with the New York Times in April. Now she and husband Daniel Craig, 50, are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter – and first child together. The couple married in 2011 and both have children from former relationships.

The James Bond actor has a daughter, Ella, 26, with his former wife, Fiona London, who is an actress. Weisz has a 12-year-old son Henry, shared with her former fiancé, Darren Aronofsky. Aronofsky is a Film director, who directed The Wrestler and Black Swan.

Craig and Weisz ‘very happy’ with their new baby daughter

According to friends of Daniel Craig, both parties are “very happy” about the birth of their daughter. When Rachel – who starred in The Mummy and The Constant Gardener – shared the news in the April interview, she said she and Craig were very happy that they were going to have a “little human.” As reported by the Independent, she added that they couldn’t wait to meet him or her, adding that it was all a mystery.

The New York Times journalist had asked Weisz the secret to her “glowing” complexion, to which Rachel replied, saying she was pregnant adding that she would be “showing soon.” When asked about her relationship with Craig, Rachel said she was very happy to be married.

The pair divide their time together between their London and New York homes.

When Rachel was interviewed the year after getting married, she was asked if she was thinking of having another child. At the time she said she was “pretty content,” and wasn’t planning on it, but added, “Never say never.”

Dad returning to 007 set

Meanwhile, Daniel Craig is getting ready to play his 007 role again in the 25th James Bond film.

Filming has been delayed due to the departure of director Danny Boyle, who left over “creative differences.” As previously reported, there was talk of killing off James Bond at the end of the film and then having a Dr Who regeneration with a new actor in the next film. Boyle thought the whole idea was “ridiculous.”

With Craig playing 007 for the last time, he will likely have more time to spend with his newly-increased family.

Growing number of women having a baby in their forties

As reported by the Telegraph, with Rachel being 48, she is one of a growing number of forty-plus-year-olds having babies. According to figures produced by the Office for National Statistics, that age group is the only one that currently has an increased pregnancy rate in both England and Wales.
