The Xbox One continues to support its backwards compatibility program. The latest Games to be added are Saints Row 2 and Dragon Age 2, both of which were popular Xbox 360 titles. Players can now enjoy both of these titles whether they own a physical version or buy a digital one via the Xbox Marketplace.

If you already own a digital version of the game, then you will be able to find it in your game library in the Read to Install section. If you still own your physical disc, then all you need to do is pop it into your Xbox One and away you go. You can relive Dragon Age before the inquisition and Saints Row before its characters became president.

Other backwards compatible games

The addition of Dragon Age 2 and Saints Row 2 are in the long line of other Xbox 360 titles that have become backwards compatible. They join the ranks of things like the Gears of War series, Red Dead Redemption, Portal 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

There are also lots of popular and well-received original Xbox titles with backwards compatibility such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Ninja Gaiden: Black, and Crimson Skies. There are a total of 497 backwards compatible titles included in both Xbox 360 and original Xbox games.

Dragon Age 2 was the follow up the hugely successful Dragon Age Origins. It is set within the same universe and takes place after the events of the first game.

The story of Dragon Age 2 sets up things that will happen in Dragon Age Inquisition, too. The game was developed by Bioware and features a wide cast of memorable characters and a hybrid action/strategy battle system.

Saints Row 2 is set five years after the events of the first game and gives players control of the same protagonist.

Players must once again navigate through an open world to complete missions and occupy turf as they lead the Third Street Saints. Saints Row 2 set the direction for all future games and cemented the series trademark humour and comedy.

Future games to be added

Both Dragon Age 2 and Saints Row 2 are welcome additions to the backwards compatibility catalogue.

However, there are still plenty of games that have yet to receive this treatment. Xbox 360 games like Batman: Arkham Asylum, Skyrim, Resident Evil 5, and Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 HD Edition are all fan favourites and hopefully they will be added in the future. At the moment, though, we don’t have any news on future backwards compatible releases for the Xbox One.
