Australian super pop star Kylie Minogue is in full promo mode. The singer, 49, announced via her social platforms that she will be promoting her latest album, Golden, due out April 6. She will be performing intimate shows at small venues in different cities.
Her first album in four years
Golden marks Kylie’s return to music, it will be her first proper album since 2014’s Kiss Me Once. The first single from the album, Dancing was released in January as a preview of the album. It was well-received by the critics who praised its message and noted it was a departure from her usual sound.
Golden will also be Kylie’s first release through BMG since she signed a contract with them last year.
Other ventures
Besides from music, Kylie has been busy in other fields. In 2017 she released her first eyewear collection in the UK, Australia and select territories through Europe. The collection was released via Specsavers. It was well received by her fans even becoming the top celebrity brand in Australia. The singer, entrepreneur and actress kept expanding her resume, especially in acting credits the last few years. She has appeared in the American sitcom Young and Hungry, and more recently, she returned to the big screen in the Australian based movie, Swinging Safari. The film premiered this year and is described as a throwback to the life of Australian families in the 70’s.
Bittersweet experiences
While Minogue has remained successful over the years. one aspect of her life has always been marked by sadness. her love life has had its highs and lows. ephemeral affairs in the public eye have been a constant for Minogue. One of her most tragic experiences romantically was the news that her ex-boyfriend Michael Hutchence had committed suicide in 1997.
More recently she lived another bittersweet romantic experience as her engagement to British actor Joshua Sasse was called off. The pair met on the set of American TV show Galavant Where Minogue guest starred and Sasse had a main role. They got engaged after a brief romance but ended their relationship early last year.
