Looks like 2016 is indeed the year of breakups and divorces, Hollywood actress along with husband art consultant Will Kopelman has released a statement in People magazine which says they are separating and heading towards a divorce. The couple who married in 2012 has two children together. The two belong to a very different background which might have become the reason for the split. Barrymore had a pretty paparazzi full adolescence which was high on drugs and alcohol while the 38 year old Kopelman belongs to the sophisticated family of Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman.
The rumours of them living separately were in news for over a year now.
The kids will remain a priority
The statement they gave in People’s magazine clearly indicates that it was a hard decision to separate ways but the life goes on and one has to live with the reality. In the statement they have also mentioned that their kids Olive who is just 3 years old and Frankie who is merely 24 months old are their universe and will always remain their priority.
Before Will Kopelman, Drew Barrymore was married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas in March 1994 which ended in a divorce just two months after the marriage and then to comedian Tom Green in July 2001 which lasted for six months.
Drew Barrymore's fourth wedding anniversary was just two months away
The decision comes as a shocker as the couple looked too much in love. Recently the couple was seen all in love at the launch of Drew’s new wine label Barrymore Wines at Pebble Beach Food & Wine festivalwhere she appeared radiant posing for selfies. In fact it was on the day of the launch of her new rose wine that she spilled the beans and confirmed the news of her divorce.
Their fourth wedding anniversary was just two months away but sadly their wedding could not last that longer. The statement also mentions their disappointment that the marriage did not work out as they and everyone else was expecting.
Drew Barrymore is a strong woman who is not just an actress but a producer, writer, makeup line owner, winemaker, mom and so we hope she faces this new change in her life with utmost strength.
