Who doesn't know about Shahrukh Khan? A better question to ask would be who doesn't love him? While he is one of the biggest stars of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan has always had a down to earth personality and he now completes 23 landmark years in the biggest Film industry in the world.
His journey began with a power packed TV show named Fauji, where he played a soldiers but he is now regarded as Bollywood's one man army when it comes to ringing the cash registers at the box office. On the movies front his first movie Deewana opposite the late Divya Bharti in which he played a lover boy, released 23 years ago.
Since then he has not stopped to charm his fans and haters alike and he even won the Filmfare Best Male Debut trophy. His Deewana co-star and fellow veteran actor Rishi Kapoor tweeted about Shahrukh completing 23 years in the industry congratulating him on the same.
His journey which spans over two decades is decorated with some mind blowing movies like Darr, Anjaam, Baazigar, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa all of which are regarded as Bollywood cult movies and have huge fandom. Shahrukh is not only loved for his heart melting romances but also for his anti-hero portrayals in the movies Baazigar, Darr & Anjaam; and he in a way changed the way Bollywood looked at villains and justified their acts very subtly.
His movie Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge ran in theatres for a record of 20 years and literally taught generations of movie goers how to romance and fall in love. Even after over 20 years to its release, girls still dream of a guy like Raj from DDLJ which goes on to prove the power of his performance.
He also experimented with other genres apart from romance with his movies like Asoka which was a historical treat, and R-One which redefined how VFX is used in Indian Cinema.
23 years ago a man called Shahrukh Khan entered the Indian cinema with a goal to entertain the audiences like never before and today we can say that his gamble paid off. Shahrukh is currently working on two movies, Raees where he plays the role of both himself and his biggest fan, and Dilwale opposite Kajol which is being directed by Rohit Shetty.
