Singer Kanika Kapoor, a London-based mother of three, has been making waves in Bollywood for long. The singer, who has swept the music scene with hit numbers such as Baby Doll, Chittiyan Kaliyan, Chil Gaye Naina, Pink Lips and Lovely filmed on Deepika Padukone in Happy New Year, made it to prominence in a short while.
The singer emerged as a real star at the Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (AIBA), in Dubai, where she swooned with her looks at the red carpet and also performed at the awards along with Meet Bros. She also walked away with the Best Playback Singer Female award, for her hit numbers in various popular Indian films.
At the award function, Kanika was spotted wearing a gown designed by Gauri and Nainika.
Dubai audience have been in love with Indian films and have a remarkable adulation for the Bollywood stars. It only justified the fact that the audience went crazy as the popular stars walked towards the venue. Salman Khan has been in news for his recently released teaser trailer of the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, naturally, he was the star of the night. Born and raised in Lucknow, Kanika moved to United Kingdom at the age of 12. Having deep knowledge of classical music as she took music lessons from musician Ganesh Prasad Mishra from Varanasi, Kanika has the ability to sing all genres of songs. Her first hit song Baby Doll from Ekta Kapoor produced film Ragini MMS starring Sunny Leone brought her to spotlight.
The popularity of the song has branded Kanika to be capable of crooning playful party numbers. Though Kanika would like to sing soulful numbers like Chil Gaye Naina from Anushka Sharma starrer NH 10, her loyal fan base loves to hear mellifluous voice rendering a peppy party song.
