Dil Dhadakne Do, Zoya Akhtar's third full-length feature film as a director after Luck by Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, has touched the hearts of many B-Town Celebrities. Taran Adarsh, Riteish Deshmukh and many other Bollywood celebrities praised the movie but self-proclaimed movie critic Kamaal R Khan (KRK) panned the movie and went as far as calling it a completely 'vulgar' film.
The official release of the film, featuring Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Rahul Bose, Shefali Shah and Ranveer Singh, is set for the 5th of June.
Below is an analysis of what stars tweeted after watching the movie on a special screening:
Taran Adarsh, the film trade analyst, tweeted that director Zoya Akhtar has adequately juxtaposed humour, emotions and drama in Dil Dhadakne Do. "The highs and lows of the relationships are finely captured on celluloid," he tweeted. Adarsh also added that the movie is a reflection on the lifestyle of the upper crust.
"My mother just called to say that Dil Dhadakne Do is the best film she has seen in years!", tweeted filmmaker Karan Johar. The filmmaker also praised Zoya Akhtar for this commendable effort.
"Dil Dhadakne Do is filled with good actors and they outperform themselves," actor Riteish Deshmukh tweeted.
Genelia Deshmukh, Riteish Deshmukh's wife and also an actress, also praised the movie on Twitter.
"Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, this is one of your best films," filmmaker Kunal Kohli tweeted. Kohli added that the movie is the perfect example of filmmaking.
"I feel on top of the world after watching Dil Dhadakne Do," tweeted actor Arjun Kapoor, adding: "Ritesh Sidhwani, please convince Zoya to make films more often!!!"
On the other hand, Kamaal R Khan showed his disappointment with this upcoming family drama with many considering that Khan's tweets crossed the line of decency, this time.
"It's not world's fault if parents of Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar got separated," self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan tweeted. "They are so obsessed that they want to show the same story to the world 10 times."
"Dil Dhadakne Do is a full time wahiyat [vulgar] film," Khan added. "If Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma are in the film, one cannot expect it to be less vulgar."
On the whole, Dil Dhadakne Do is one of the most anticipated movies of 2015 and the audience, industry and trade are looking forward to the release of Zoya Akthar's third feature film.
Why shouldn't it be a highly anticipated movie after all? It has a lot of reasons to be trending all over Bollywood, including an eclectic cast of stars, picturesque locales and, of course, the director Zoya Akhtar.
Will the movie live up to the hype? Will Zoya be able to deliver this time? Apparently, the pre-release reviews by the industry and many of it's main stars seem to indicate that we should expect, at least, a rollercoaster of emotions. But, the audience will have to wait until the 5th of June to actually discover what's in store for them.
