British model turned Bollywood actor Upen Patel along with his lady love TV actress Karishma Tanna have emerged as one of the most popular contestants on the dance reality show 'Nach Baliye' season 7. Thanks to their stunning dance performances and ability to pull off drama in front of the camera, the two contestants are in the top-rank and are the darling of masses.

Upen and Karishma came into limelight during their stint in hit reality show 'Bigg Boss 8', where the two professed their love for each other. In the latest episodes of Nach Baliye, Upen formally proposed to Karishma and the two publically got engaged, on the show.

Their "lovey-dovey" act surprised the audience and equally stunned the judges - actress Priety Zinta, novelist Chetan Bhagat and choreographer Marzi Pestonji.

Right from the beginning of the show, Karishma and Upen have been the centre of attention and have been enjoying the moniker 'UpMa', given by their fans. The two former Bigg Boss contestants were well-known for creating a drama in the show, which had helped them gather maximum votes. Nach Baliye audience are once again in for tantrums and gimmicks by Upen and Karishma, who are touted as one of the winning teams.

Upen started his Bollywood career with Abbas Mastan's 36 China Town. He shared the screen with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in Namaste London and later was seen in super-hit Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, starring Ranbir Kapoor.

He revived his career by making a successful appearance in Bigg Boss, where despite getting eliminated he was again allowed to enter the show, as a wild card contestant, on popular demand.

The couple is giving tough competition to another equally popular team consisting of TV stars Rashmi Desai and Nandish Sandhu. The hot TV couple were last seen in the hit daily soap Uttaran and are now appearing together in the dance show.

Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and his wife were rumoured to join the show as contestants, but pulled off at the last minute.

Chetan Bhagat, a prominent Indian novelist who has penned a few best-sellers, has been under a scanner for appearing as a judge of the dance reality show. He has been trolled on Twitter and has been receiving thousands of hate mail for being overly critical while judging the contestants.
