For the first 35 games of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers showed what they are capable of. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the way, it seems that the Lakers are destined to add another banner to the rafters.

Former Spur Looking In

However, during those games, it was evident that they are lacking an essential piece for a championship run. Yes, they might have redeemed themselves yesterday by making 17 3 point shots, but it is still their Achilles heel. With that said, here are some players that are under the radar for them to sign. Davis Bertans, an agile forward with an outstanding range.

The Latvian Laser is now the target of multiple teams such as the Denver Nuggets, Clippers and Lakers. Currently, Bertans is averaging a career high 15.4 points per game while shooting 44% from the arc. Every championship team that LeBron led has a stretch forward like Chris Bosh and Kevin Love, so adding Bertans is a no brainer for Laker fans.

Another Two-Way Player

Marcus Morris, a grizzled veteran which is also one of the best two way players in the league. Mook is currently playing with the New York Knicks and posting career high numbers. He is also widely considered as a tenacious defender and doesn’t give ground to anybody including LeBron. Although Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Danny Green are currently performing well, trading for Morris is a must.

Statistically, he is far better than the two and his consistency at both position is off the charts.

Love And LeBron Reunion

Another player who is likely to sign with the Lakers is All Star and former championship teammate of The King, Kevin Love. It is no secret that Kevin Love has no love with his current team. A few days ago, he posted a tirade about his disgust regarding the Cavaliers management.

Multiple video clips have surfaced on the web as well, showing Kevin basically had enough with his team. The most plausible trade that they can do in order to lure Kevin Love is to ship Kyle Kuzma. He is projected to have a stellar season, but due to an injury, he is having an inconsistent season. Kuz is young and talented but sometimes he takes ill advised shots which bewilder some Laker hopeful.

Lastly, the former Duke Blue Devil star and one of the most accurate shooters in NBA history, JJ Redick. Ever since he joined the league, JJ has been a nightmare to guard. A true student of the game and a spot up shooter, Redick is what the Lakers need. He might be a burden on the defensive end, but he has Avery Bradley, Danny Green, Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard to back him up. It is only a matter of days until GM Rob Pelinka makes a move. We might see a new player wearing purple and gold, but selfishly they have to let go of one of their players.
