Mitchell Marsh returns to the Aussie side
Australia announced their XI for the third Test on the eve of the match.
Mitchell Marsh will replace Peter Handscomb, who has struggled with form lately. Marsh provides the home side with an all-rounding option in the middle.
India decided to drop both their openers- Murli Vijay and KL Rahul for this crucial match after their below average performances in the first two games. Mayank Agarwal of Karnataka will make his Test debut while Hanuma Vihari will open the innings with him.

Rohit Sharma returns to the side along with Ravindra Jadeja. According to the ESPN Cricinfo report, R Ashwin hasn't recovered from his injury while leaving out Umesh Yadav is a strategic move to bring in a spinner.
The weather forecast for the first four days of the match predicts hot and sunny conditions. Due to this, the pitch might get hard and dry as the game moves along. The MCG pitch has been criticized in recent times for not being good enough for an exciting Test, so fingers crossed on how it behaves for this match.
