The girl who captivated the audience as the younger daughter of Amir Khan in the movie "Dangal" is in the news. The Muslim actress Fatima Sana Sheikh who hails from Kashmir made a magnificent debut in the film.
"Dangal" is the Hindi word for a wrestling bout. The actress won all-round praise from critics and the public, the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister has also congratulated her. The actress has now published two of her photos in a revealing black swimsuit on Instagram. In the photos, she is sitting in a chair on the beach. The photo brings out the sex appeal of the actress and with the water lapping the shore in the background presents an alluring image.
However, some Muslims have trolled the actress. They have commented that Sana must have some shame and it is not proper to pose in a revealing photo during the holy month of Ramadan.
Sana selected for "Thugs of Hindoostan"
Sana has ignored the comments. She is presenting herself to the Indian masses, and she has bagged a role in the next film of Amir Khan. The film titled " Thugs of Hindoostan" will also star Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. This is a feather in her cap as many other actresses had auditioned for the role. The film has commenced shooting and will be released next year (2018).
Sana is 25 and still a babe in Bollywood. She will follow in the fòotsteps of great Muslim actresses of Bollywood like Katrina Kaif, Madhubala, Nimmi and Meena Kumari.
She has as yet not been cast by other producers but it is just a matter of time before she bags a role. Her casting in " Thugs of Hindustan" will be an asset.
Amir defends
Many Muslims want to live in peace but fringe elements who want the Sharia and the Burkha go about enforcing their diktat, sometimes with a gun. Sana was criticised earlier also by Muslim groups after her role in "Dangal".
At that time her costar Amir Khan had appealed to let Sana lead her life peacefully. However, he was careful not to antagonise the extremists.
Future
Sana has done well so far. By posting her photos in a black swimming costume she has set the ball rolling. Her fairness is accentuated with the black costume and shows that she is a modern MUslim girl. Many girls including Muslims see her as a role model for oppressed Muslim women. Many of them are coerced to drape their body and wear the Burkha.
People are waiting to see how Sana performs in Amir's new film. Her role is so far not announced. One hopes she will be a success.
