Caitlyn Jenner is the star of reality television shows such as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and her own show “I Am Cait” and an icon in the transgender community, her bravery credited with single-handedly taking huge strides towards the acceptance of trans people in mainstream society. She has spoken out to criticise President Donald Trump, who has taken away the federal law allowing transgender students to use whatever bathroom they like in federal-owned schools, which had been working a charm for trans youths previously.

Jenner is apparently ‘the world’s most famous Republican’

Jenner tweeted to Trump that the withdrawal of the law is “a disaster.” Now, it might be easy for one to assume that Jenner, being a big Hollywood star with philosophies about tolerance and now speaking out against Trump, is a hippie liberal, aka a Democrat, but surprisingly, she is a Republican through and through, revealed when she began her tweet, “From one Republican to another...” This is not the first time she has publicly expressed her right-wing stance, mind you. Last year, she appeared at the Republican National Convention, being introduced as “the world’s most famous Republican.”

Jenner sternly reminded Trump that he “made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community” whilst on the campaign trial, which makes it appear as though he only made that promise as a kind of empty gesture in order to secure the LGBTQ vote.

‘Call me’

Jenner concluded, “Call me,” probably so she can berate Trump further, but this time verbally and with the chance to hear his response rather than having a go at him into the empty space of Twitter.

Jenner added a video clip to her Twitter post, where she tells Trump that he hasn’t yet completely lost the support of the LGBTQ community and is still able to redeem himself despite this damning decision.

She said in the clip, “You can still fix it.” On Wednesday, the Department of Justice and the Department of Education each sent letters to the Supreme Court and all the public schools across America telling them that the Trump administration had decided to undo Barack Obama’a ruling to allow transgender students in public schools to use whichever toilet facilities and locker rooms they feel most comfortable with according to their gender identity.

By backtracking that, Trump is essentially taking away their human rights.

Trump’s new change to the ruling, withdrawing it, has been put on hold for now, since Obama’s original version itself never fully went through last May after it was blocked by a federal court, which surely didn’t please Jenner all too much. Boy, for better or for worse, the federal courts sure do like blocking things that Presidents want, don’t they?

Trump is flip-flopping on his original promise to trans community

During his Presidential campaign, Trump won over the support of the LGBTQ community (including Jenner), which is now exposed as manipulation and lies just to get their votes, by lashing out at a North Carolina bill that went through banning transgender youths from using the restrooms of the gender with which they identify, saying during an interview on TODAY that the bill could cause “strife” for the economy (somehow) and said it was unnecessary to prevent transgender kids from using the toilets they want because “there have been very few complaints the way it is.”

Trump’s original campaign explanation of the trans bathroom situation, which Jenner agreed with when she thought it was how he really felt, was: “People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate.

There has been so little trouble.” However, now he’s giving them trouble by withdrawing their basic human rights.

Trump also named Jenner personally once, saying that she could use whatever bathroom she wants if she ever finds herself on one of his family’s or his company’s properties. Jenner later used the women’s restroom at Trump Tower in New York and that was a big thing, so it’s no great shock that she’s disappointed by this news.
