US President Donald Trump has visited Paris for 24 hours to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. They’ve discussed everything from climate change to counter-terrorist measures against Syria. Also, Trump creepily told Macron’s wife, “You’re in such good shape,” and later, “Beautiful.” When does it end with this guy and his chilling flirtations?
As 2017 marked the 100th anniversary of when America entered the First World War, back in 1917, the US President had been long expected to attend the Bastille Day celebrations since long before Trump or Macron were elected to lead their countries.
But now that it’s Trump, the French aren’t too keen to let him in for their celebrations.
French don’t want Trump at the Bastille Day military parade
Along with Macron, Trump will be attending the Bastille Day military parade this morning on the Champs Élysée. However, anti-Trump protestors have gathered to declare it a “No Trump Zone.” The French movement against the US President claims they are standing against his “anti-migrant positions, sexism, Islamophobia, and racism.” According to left-wing party France Unbowed leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the POTUS is “not at all welcome” on Bastille Day.
