In an interview with former “SNL” cast member Seth Meyers on Meyers’ chat show “Late Night,” Oscar-winning documentarian Michael Moore (“Fahrenheit 9/11”) made another prediction about President-elect Donald Trump.
Moore predicted Trump’s election victory
Moore corrected predicted that Trump would win the election back in July, and even correctly handpicked the states that would lead him to victory.
He joked that now people are asking him for the winning lottery numbers. Meyers then compared Moore’s prediction to winning the lottery, “but instead of winning $6 million you got kicked in the nuts.”
Moore told Meyers that he has “never wanted to be more wrong,” and recalled that when he first made the prediction, people in the audience grumbled “because it didn’t seem possible.” He explained why it didn’t seem possible, saying that Hillary was “ahead in the polls” and “winning the debates,” and added that Trump is “crazy.”
He now predicts Trump won’t actually serve as President
Moore made a new prediction on the show that Trump will not go on to serve his term as President, or even begin it.
He reminded the audience that Trump will not officially by President of the United States until his inauguration, which he says is “more than six weeks away.” He said that, “regardless of which side of the political fence you’re on,” 2016 has been “the craziest election year” for everyone.
The new prediction made by Moore is that “in these next six weeks, something else might happen, something crazy, something we’re not expecting.”
Meyers suggested that perhaps Trump has now realised that being President is “way more work than he warned it to be,” to which Moore responded, “Oh, he is so bummed out.” Moore suggested that Trump might simply “quit before he even takes office,” and when the audience grumbled at that prediction too, he said, “Everybody in this audience at some point in their life on the first day of their job knew they had taken the wrong job.”
‘Michael Moore in TrumpLand’ was a hit
Moore did a one-man show during the election cycle called “Michael Moore in TrumpLand,” where he went to towns of Trump supporters and implored an audience of voters to vote for Hillary instead, and by the end he had audiences in tears and giving him a standing ovation, but they still voted for Trump.
