Paul McCartney is in the headlines a lot these days. On Thursday the 76-year-old singer and songwriter appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where, among other things, the former Beatle surprised a bunch of visitors in the 30 Rock building in New York, on one of the floors of the building as they were riding in the lift.

As reported by Consequence of Sound, Fallon and McCartney had a lot of fun on the show, including other McCartney stunts relating to his new “Egypt Station” album. The former Beatle also strongly hinted of a possible private performance in New York’s Grand Central Station on Friday.

Fun with McCartney and Fallon

One of the skits on the show saw Paul McCartney and host Jimmy Fallon waiting in a lobby, while unsuspecting visitors arrived in the lift on the wrong floor, only to find the former Beatle is various different positions. One involved McCartney and Fallon playing ping-pong, another saw Paul and Jimmy relaxing and reading a newspaper wearing slippers and puffing on a pipe. Another had McCartney playing a few Beatles classics while yet another involved a magic trick performed by Fallon.

‘Egypt Station’ has been released

At the start of the show, McCartney walked in as Kendall Jenner was dancing with Jimmy to the single “Fuh You,” taken from his new album “Egypt Station.” He also played the song “Come On To Me” during the show.

McCartney also spoke about the backlash John Lennon had received after he infamously said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus while singing the classic “Hey Jude” to a fan in a restaurant. It turns out Jimmy had always dreamed of getting a phone call from McCartney. While on the show, Paul phoned Fallon’s childhood number to leave a voice message.

Just for fun, McCartney even made up an angry song live on “The Late Show” to say how much he hates Jimmy Fallon. Readers can hear that song below.

The former Beatle also dropped strong hints that he may give a private performance at New York’s Grand Central Station on Friday. According to the tweet below, he did just that.
