James McCartney and Sean Ono Lennon got together recently and took a surprising selfie. The image showed the amazing likeness the two men share with their famous Beatles dads. Sean posted the image of their selfie to Instagram on Monday where they were applauded for their image by his followers.

What makes it really surprising is that both sons are musicians, just like their dads, the late John Lennon and the very much still alive Paul McCartney.

It is not clear whether Sean and James are working on making some music together, or are just good friends, but wouldn't it be great if they did?

Beatles offspring in a selfie image

As reported by the Mirror Online, when Sean posted the selfie to Instagram, he captioned the image “Peekaboo…” James can be seen to be holding a guitar in the photo, which is included here. Their likeness to John Lennon and Paul McCartney is certainly striking.

That isn't all the news relating to the Beatles that is hitting the headlines these days. It seems the 1960s and 1970s band are still alive in people's hearts and minds.

George Harrison’s guitar

Keeping with Beatles-related news, it was recently reported that a guitar, played by George Harrison at the Beatles’ last session in The Cavern Club in Liverpool in 1963, is up for auction this coming September. Harrison had sent his normal guitar for repair and the store owner lent him the Maton Mastersound MS-500 as a loaner. Harrison enjoyed the instrument so much that he continued to play it in sessions and studio recordings. The guitar is expected to fetch somewhere between £300,000 to £400,000 when it is sold on auction.

Beatles cars for sale

NME reports that fans have the opportunity to buy cars, formerly owned by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Both cars will be sold at auction in the US on 1 September. McCartney’s vehicle of choice was a 1965 Mini Cooper S DeVille, while Lennon last drove a 1979 Mercedes E300 estate car prior to his untimely death. This gives a whole new meaning to the lyrics "Baby you can drive my car."

It turns out Brian Epstein, the band’s manager, had ordered four of the Mini Coopers, one for each band member. Harrison’s wife still owns his Mini, while Ringo Starr’s Mini was sold to Geri Halliwell for £102,300. It is unknown what happened to Lennon’s Mini.

Paul McCartney and The Cavern Club

As reported recently, Paul McCartney made a come-back recently at The Cavern Club on a recent revisit to his hometown of Liverpool.

McCartney played to a packed club of adoring fans, but there was a small incident. Paul had insisted that no mobile phones be used during the concert, as they distracted him from his playing. He had to stop at one stage to admonish the crowd to please put away their phones.
