The teaser video for Hindi movie “Fanney Khan” was finally released on YouTube on June 27, 2018, and its long wait has been worth it. The flick which is rumoured to be based upon “Everybody's Famous!” is a 2000 Dutch satirical comedy Film, featuring former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The Dutch movie that starred Josse De Pauw and Eva Van Gucht was also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2001.

The teaser introduces us to three main characters - Aishwarya Rai, Anil Kapoor, and Rajkummar Rao. Aishwarya has a very small appearance in the teaser just posing for the camera.

The teaser opens with Rajkummar as the narrator or ‘Sutradhar’ and explains the meaning of “Fanney Khan.” As he narrates the meaning, we see glamorous shots of Aishwariya before it pans towards the common man who aspires to make it big as a singer and star.

Finally, Anil arrives and it seems he is obsessed with music as his body language shows. Anil Kapoor is shown practising music on the terrace of an apartment what looks like a slum area in Mumbai.

In the original flick, the father of the vital character kidnaps the star and is asked to keep the star hidden so that the key character becomes a famous pop star.

Aishwarya Rai's much-awaited flick

The flick is said to have two dance numbers featuring Aishwarya.

Frank Gatson Jr. has done the choreography. Gatson has worked with prominent singers like Beyonce, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, among others. Aish is playing the star, and it is rumoured that Rajkummar Rao will be playing her love interest.

Speaking to IANS news agency, Rao said that it was a great experience working with both Aish and Kapoor.

He added that he was thrilled with the way the flick has turned out.

Aishwarya Rai is the star, and there is no doubt about it after watching the teaser. However, it is not clear who Fanney Khan is. Anil Kapoor appears with his trumpet and dreams, and finally, we have Raaj Kumar who is the narrator and the link between the two.

Shooting in progress

Hindustan Times notes that Aishwarya was recently spotted shooting with choreographer Frank Gatson for a song in the film and pictures and videos from the shoot are already posted online. Hopefully, Anil Kapoor will get better reviews for his performance in this film compared to the recently released "Race 3" starring Salman Khan. The movie got the dubious record of getting the lowest rating of 2.5 out of 10 on the rating site, IMDb.

"Fanney Khan" is co-produced by T-Series along with Anil Kapoor Films Company Network. The flick will be released on August 3, 2018.
