Katy Perry and Taylor Swift started off as the best of friends, but for several years there has been an ongoing feud between them. The singing duo has sent each other nasty tweets and awkward messages in song form, but as Taylor starts her “Reputation” tour in Arizona, she has received an unexpected good luck wish in the form of an actual olive branch delivered by her arch-nemesis.

As noted by Sky News, after Taylor received the actual, real and physical olive branch, she headed to Instagram to share the news, which had the caption, “Thank you, Katy.” In the video post, Taylor says she had got to her dressing room to find the wonderful gift, adding that the olive branch means so much to her.

There was also a telling note attached to the olive branch, of which a corner can also be seen in the Instagram video post. Perry had addressed Taylor as an “old friend,” saying she had been reflecting on some of their past miscommunications and the bad feeling between the pair. On the next line Katy said she wants to clear the air, and the words “deeply sorry” can also be spotted in the post.

Is the bad blood between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry resolved?

As reported by Marie Claire, the diva pair originally fell out in 2012, after three of Taylor’s backup dancers left her “Red” tour to join Perry’s “Prism” tour.

Apparently, the dancers had worked with Katy before. This led to Swift’s hit “Bad Blood,” which is believed to relate to Perry, while Katy’s “Swish Swish” is said to be a knock at Taylor. This wasn’t the first time Taylor sent a message in song form. She is also believed to have written lyrics about former partners, including Tom Hiddleston and Harry Styles.

Katy says women should stay together

In her segment on “Carpool Karaoke” last year, Perry said to James Corden that she believed women should stay together, and not be divided from each other.

Katy said without what she termed the “petty sh*t” women could heal the world. It now looks like that healing is possible after Katy extended the actual olive branch to Taylor.

Taylor Swift's tour opens in Phoenix

Meanwhile, Swift’s tour opened in Phoenix, with British singer Charli XCX as the opening singer. Camila Cabello also participated in the opening, which received tumultuous applause. U.K. fans will be able to see Taylor during the tour when she heads to London, Manchester and Dublin during June.
