As the deadly crime was so serious, Pagourtizis will be facing charges as an adult, and his name was released to the media. Season 2 of “13 Reasons Why” was released by Netflix early on Friday and a celebration was intended to take place that night in Los Angeles. However, on hearing the news of the deadly school shooting, Netflix released a statement saying they were cancelling the premiere event.

In their statement, Netflix said their hearts were with the families and victims of the shooting. They said their hearts were also with all other victims of gun violence. They added that they were cancelling the premiere celebration of season 2 of “13 Reasons Why.” The first season of the teen drama focused on the suicide of a 17-year-old school student, Hannah Baker and a series of 13 tapes she sent out to 13 people, explaining how they contributed to her taking her own life. The show covers the scourge of teen bullying, suicide and rape among the students of Liberty High School.

As reported by CBS News, there is also the aspect of one bullied student, who has guns and ammunition hidden in his room, leading to the likelihood of a school shooting on the show. The shooting storyline in "13 Reasons Why" involves a student who enters the school with handguns and a rifle, but a fellow student manages to persuade him not to shoot and helps the student to escape the school before the police arrive there.

Season 2 also goes on to feature the lawsuit launched against the high school by Hannah’s parents and covers how her fellow students are coping with the loss.

The premiere celebration was set to include the stars of “13 Reasons Why,” including Dylan Minnette, Kate Walsh, Katherine Langford and more, as well as the show’s producer, Selena Gomez. Brian Yorkey, the creator of “13 Reasons Why,” was interviewed by USA Today. He said that the show is more about the experience of the bullied student and how producers are expressing this as the worse possible outcome of the story.
