"Star Wars" is not just a movie franchise, it is a phenomenon, an institution which has die-hard followers and fans who swear by the characters and theories of the franchise. While the movie is just a few days away from its worldwide release, the astronauts on the ISS (International Space Station) will be able to watch the “Star Wars: The Last Jediin low earth orbit. It's not the first time though that a movie will be screened in space, but it will be the first time that it is screened along with its world premiere.

Star Wars to be shown in space in digital format

While the time and date have not been fixed, it is confirmed by Inverse.com that the movie will be shown in digital format on laptop or projector in the outer space. The movie releases on Thursday and the online booking websites have already experienced huge traffic for ticket bookings and most of the cinemas are already booked in advance. Imagine watching the epic “Star Wars” franchise movie in space, that will literally be out of this world. We the ones on the ground will have to be happy with the theatrical release for now which is about to happen in a few days worldwide.

SpaceX Dragon will carry the movie?

In all possibility, SpaceX Dragon capsule which is headed towards ISS on Friday will be delivering the movie to the space station.

It will be great if NASA releases a video of the astronauts watching the movie as it will be for the first time that such an event will be witnessed.

We can just wait and watch the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” here on earth while the astronauts watch it up in space in a magical setup. For now, the best thing is that the movie is already getting crazy reviews which are only adding to the excitement.

The movie is supposed to be full of twists, surprises, shocks, and discoveries which the audiences will absolutely love to unearth. The return of Luke is by far the most awaited scene.
