Tamil actor Vishal and his fans are happy as his latest movie "Kaththi Sandai" released on December 23, 2016, has come out with flying colors at the Indian box-office. According to latest updates, the movie has collected more than Rs 11 Crores from the theaters in India.
From Chennai alone, the film has grossed more than Rs 97 lakhs, and it has overpowered Aamir Khan's much-hyped film "Dangal" too in the Tamil Nadu capital.
The tiff between producers and theater owners in Kerala has helped this movie a lot in gaining a decent collection from the Mollywood box-office.
As no Malayalam movies were released in Kerala last week, most of the movie lovers preferred "Kaththi Sandai" over the Aamir Khan starred "Dangal".
Trade experts say that the Suraaj directorial has grossed nearly Rs 1.5 Crores from Kerala alone. The figure is expected to reach 3 Crores, as the next Malayalam movie will reach the screens only after another seven days.
Domestic earnings report
In Andhra/Telangana region too, the film is receiving decent collections despite the mixed reviews. As per credible sources, "Kaththi Sandai" has earned nearly 2 Crores from the state, and this is undoubtedly a huge achievement for a Tamil movie. The success of this film is expected to enhance the star power of Vishal among Telugu audiences.
In this Suraaj directorial, we can see Vishal romance the stunning Tamannaah Bhatia. The film showcases the story of a young man who tries to win the heart of his lover. In this journey, he faces opposition from a crooked doctor played by veteran comedian Vadivelu.

The major highlight of this movie is the glamorous scenes of Tamannaah Bhatia.
The ravishing actress has shown ample skin throughout the movie, and it offers a real treat for the audiences in Tamil Nadu.
Public opinion:
By the end of this week, the film is expected to reach the 20 Crore mark, as other movies like "Balle Vellaiyathevaa" and "Veera Sivaji" have failed to make a mark at the box-office.
Tamannaah vs Suraaj
Earlier, director Suraaj had made a controversial statement on Tamannaah's skin show in this movie.
During a promotional event, Suraaj had told that he wants his heroines to be in short dresses, as it will attract the audiences more.
