If you think some of the world’s top models love statement-making ink then you’d be right. Sure there once was a time when ink on a Model was unheard of. Lucky for us the times have changed and fast forward a few years to an age where tattoos rule the runway.

These days inked models grace the catwalks at some of the most prestigious Fashion weeks of our time from New York to Milan to London and Paris. Renowned fashion houses such as Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel and Dior included models with ink in some of their latest showings. Infamous Vivienne Westwood even went so far as to include a host of striking models and their tatts on the runway for her latest Spring 2017 fashion show.

Models and their ink

It’s been said that fashion has no limits and now models have no limits as the runway is theirs in all its unbridled glory. Models such as Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are all aboard the ink train to name but a few.

British supermodel Jourdan Dunn has not one but two tattoos to her collection and recently added another by her favourite tattooist Cally-Jo who is based in Manhattan.

Model of the moment Cara Delevingne has the word ‘bacon’ on the bottom of her foot. If that’s not bad enough she went on to get a lion’s face inked on her right middle finger proving that nothing could stop you gracing the cover of American Vogue – not even an unusual choice of ink.

Tattoos that rule the runway

Legendary model Kate Moss she was more than happy to embrace the needle for the second time as she added a few birds right above her lower back in addition to the tiny anchor on her wrist.News of aspiring model Kendall Jenner getting inked may not have broken the internet in a true Kardashian sense but the news did cause a social media frenzy.

It was reported that the young Kardashian sibling visited West 4 Tattoo in New York and got a white dot inked on her middle finger by tattoo artist Jon Boy.

When it comes to model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley dainty is as dainty does as she walked away with a tiny heart tattoo inked on her wrist and that was where she called it a day."You put clothes on a hanger, and you put clothes on a model. So it represents being a model" model Chanel Iman once revealed to Harper's Bazaar magazine after getting her first brush with ink.
