Being Shahrukh Khan is not easy, and apparently it's also a pain in the knee. For Shahrukh Khan, injuries have been a constant companion and his knee injury has by far been the most difficult one.
When the King Khan is in pain, how can his fans rejoice? The Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan has been in pain for a long time now due to his knee injury. Shahrukh has already had one knee surgery and now has undergone a second one for which he is now advised to rest for at least three to four days.
The arthroscopic surgery was performed on his left knee, on Thursday, at Breach candy Hospital, by Dr.
Sanjay Desai, an arthroscopy and joint replacement surgeon. The doctor also revealed that the surgery was needed because Shahrukh had been suffering from constant pain and swelling in his left knee.
The knee injury occurred on the set of Farah Khan's Happy New Year, where he broke his patella (knee cap) during a dance sequence, which made it difficult for him to move his leg. Since then the injury has lasted even after an initial surgery sometime ago. Shahrukh used Twitter to shared his agony about constantly visiting hospitals while his fans are praying for his speedy recovery with the hash tag #GetWellsoonSRK.
The 49 year old iconic star's knee injury is a result of repeated minor injuries over the years which resulted in a chondral wear of his patella.
This is his 5th leg injury since the start of his legendary career beginning with his first leg injury during the shoot of the movie "Koyla", after which he went for a knee surgery. This was followed by a toe injury in "Dil toh Pagal hai" and a broken right akle while shooting "One 2 ka four". Therefore, this latest injury is giving him more trouble than ever due to his past leg injuries.
Shahrukh was shooting for Excel Entertainment's "Raees" just before the surgery and thus had to take a break from the movie's schedule and the shoot is being kept on hold until he is discharged from the hospital and ok to start shooting again.
Shahrukh is currently working in three big budget projects at a time; namely Aditya Chopra's Fan, Rohit Shetty's much awaited Dilwale and Excel Entertainment's Raees. We wish Shahrukh a speedy recovery.
