She is a white girl, who can barely speak any Indian language fluently yet Amy Jackson, a Liverpool girl is making it big in Indian Film industry. The first look of the film Singh is Bling with Akshay Kumar posing with Amy has created a viral sensation. Marked as one of the 100 sexiest women by FHM and awarded as promising debutant at various award functions, Amy has made her presence felt in Indian showbiz.

The film directed by Prabhu Dheva is all set to be a stepping stone in a larger Bollywood league. She shares the screen with two other powerful and glamorous actresses such as Bipasha Basu and former Miss Universe Lara Dutta.

To survive a pool of established Bollywood actors would be the real test for Amy.

The makers of 'Singh is Bling' were looking for a stunning young actress to heighten the glam-quotient while the rumours were rife that Kriti Sanon of Heropanti fame would be cast opposite Akshay. However, Prabhu Dheva reportedly found Amy suitable for the role. Amy may not be well versed with the Indian languages but she picked up Tamil rather quickly, starting her career in 2009 with the fantasy drama Madrasapattinam.

Spotted by Tamil director A L Vijay, Amy recalls taking it as a challenge to fly down to India to try her luck in the film world. Following which she worked in Ek Deewana Tha, opposite Prateik Babbar, son of late actress Smita Patil.

The film, however, could not help her much as it tanked at the box office. Amy's stint in southern film (Kollywood) was rather too impressive as the young actresses was applauded by Vikram with whom she worked in Thaandavam, for being versatile and extremely adaptive to a new work environment. Tamil romantic thriller I, written and directed by Vikraam was one of the biggest box office hits.

Amy played a supermodel in the film widely applauded for effective computer imagery.

Amy has been pinning her hopes on 'Singh is Bling', which has been in news ever since it went on the floors. She enjoys being a glamorous doll and is well aware of the challenges faced by outsiders as they make a foray into Bollywood. Katrina Kaif - a London bred-Kashmiri origin actor has been one of the rare exceptions who made it to the top by fighting all the odds. The biggest challenge with Amy is her inability to speak Hindi and she will learn it soon as she did by getting a grip over Tamil.
