Netflix will be releasing a Rudyard Kipling tale, a romantic comedy film, a German-language thriller, stand-up comedy and a taste of the Old West.

As the days get shorter and the nights get longer and colder, what better than to cuddle up on the couch with a warm drink and snacks and stream the new shows and films coming to Netflix [VIDEO]over the next couple of months?

‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’

Rudyard Kipling’s masterpiece has been reimagined by director Andy Serkis. The Netflix film tells the tale of a young boy, raised by wolves, who is torn between two worlds. Mowgli has never really belonged in the wild, but he also can’t fit in with the world of humankind. He now accepts his destiny and tries to fit in. Beautifully filmed with excellent effects, it is a definite must for the coming holiday season. “Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle” starts streaming on 7th December 2018.

‘The Princess Switch’

A perfect Christmas movie, you’ll definitely see double as Vanessa Hudgens plays the role of a baker from Chicago and Margaret, the Duchess of Montenaro. When Margaret notes that Stacy is her double, she decides to switch places so that she can find out what it’s like to be a normal girl. As noted by Cosmopolitan, Stacy then gets to spend time with Margaret’s future husband, a handsome prince. “The Princess Switch” starts streaming on 16 November 2018.

‘Dogs of Berlin’ Season 1

If you understand German – or can handle watching something with sub-titles – “Dogs of Berlin” is a worthwhile stream. Following the critically-acclaimed series “Dark,” this is the second German language series produced by Netflix. The series tells the story of the politically sensitive murder of a high-profile football star which forces two disparate detectives to battle the Berlin underworld and uncover their own corruption. Season 1 will start streaming on 7 December 2018.

‘Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia’

South Africans know Trevor Noah well for his stand-up, and often controversial, comedy. He is now also known in America for his political comedy on the “The Today Show.” The man who was “born a crime” during the apartheid years in South Africa, due to his white father and black mother (the titular Patricia) is about to do stand-up on Netflix, streaming from 20 November – in “Dimple Vision.”

‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’

If you are a fan of the Old West, this film is perfect for you. It consists of an anthology of six short films set in the 19th century, post-Civil War era. Netflix describes it as “Stories live forever, people don’t.” According to Slate Magazine it is a “Western out to break all the rules.” The film will screen at limited cinema engagements starting November 8 and will be streaming on Netflix from 16 November 2018.
